A little over a year ago, Matt and Jessica tied the knot at The Cherry Hill Event Center- and what a gorgeous day it was! Their photographer, Nola from Creations by Nola Photography, was thoughtful to share these amazing shots capturing the day. You can find our more information about Nola here!

A 6 p.m. ceremony outside was planned followed by an appetizer reception and buffet meal.  Guests at the event enjoyed Oriental Pot Stickers with a ginger glaze, fresh fruit skewers,  wild mushroom and Boursin cheese in phyllo dough, spinach and feta phyllo, vegetable spring rolls and cocktail shrimp. Dinner included assorted Upper Crust artisan breads, three cheese tortellini salad herb roasted potatoes, vegetable medley, parmesan chicken and beef tenderloin.

Jessica and Matt decorated the space in stunning fashion! Just check out a few of the shots…love, love, love the rows of flowers and tea lights lining the tables.

Congratulations to David and Vivian Rice who recently tied the knot on Saturday, March 27 and celebrated at The Cherry Hill Event Center.  It was a gorgeous wedding which pulled from a fresh color palette of crisp apple green, white, and even red accents.  Guests at the luncheon reception dined on Atlantic Salmon and Beef Tenderloin, Fresh Garden Salad topped with Raspberry Vinaigrette, Yukon Twice Baked Potatoes and a Medley of Fresh Vegetables.  And of course Upper Crust’s signature freshly baked breads!

It was a beautiful event and we loved being a part of it–enjoy a few shots from their special day!

A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of participating in a photo shoot with the talented team from Silverbox Photography (Amy Enderle and Kim Wade) as well as A-1 Party Perfect’s Deb Montague…what a fun day it was.  The goal of the day: to shoot some fabulous photos that highlight the elegance of The Cherry Hill Event Center and the beautiful decor available at A-1.

We introduced to you to The Cherry Hill Event Center, The Upper Crust’s sister property situated off Corona Rd in the quaint Village of Cherry Hill, awhile back with ‘Our Spotlight on Cherry Hill’.

Lighting makes a huge difference at any event and it’s something we harp on often with our brides.  Beautiful candle light, like from these crystal balls (which we love!) cast a lovely glow on the room.

And we’ve said it before, but what a difference a chair cover makes!

If you’re entertaining this weekend and want to really ‘wow’ your guest, why not try Upper Crust’s brandy snap baskets.  Not only are they quick and easy to prepare at home, but your guests will marvel at your culinary talent.  Serve them with fruit, sorbets or as garnish with any dessert.  Pictured below are our brandy snap baskets with Encore’s Raspberry Mirroir…a must have if you haven’t tried it!

Brandy Snap Baskets

2 sticks butter

1½ cups sugar

¼ cup brandy

1 cup light corn syrup

1½ cups all-purpose flour

Cream butter and sugar together in mixing bowl. Add brandy and corn
syrup. Stir in flour until consistency is smooth. Refrigerate batter
for two to three hours.

Drop teaspoon-size balls of batter onto greased sheet pan, about 3
inches apart. Bake at 350 degrees for seven to 10 minutes until light
brown. Cool slightly on the sheet pan, then remove with a spatula and
transfer onto an upside-down muffin tin. Mold into bowls around the
tin and let cool for five minutes. Remove the bowls from the tin and
fill with your favorite frozen treat.

Enjoy!

Mini Wedding Cake

There’s just something about the size and presentation of these dainty mini cakes that make them even more delectable than their larger counterparts.  The three-inch cakes wrapped in decadent butter cream icing have certainly become an Upper Crust fan-favorite since their introduction last summer.  Not only are they perfect for that on-the-go client craving a sweet treat but we’re also seeing a rise in orders for private parties and even as mini wedding cakes.  The photo above is from an October bride who served each guest a miniature version of their actual wedding cake…definitely a fun twist on tradition!

In addition to specialty orders, we also always try to keep a good selection of miniature versions of our signature cakes in our cases at both our Green Meadows and Upper Crust locations.  Check out a few other photos of these yummy treats!

In the future, we’ll also be including updates, recipes and info on The Upper Crust.

Got a suggestion or photos from an event you want to share?  We want to hear from you! Simply leave us a note or email us at catering@theuppercrust.biz.

In the meantime, I’ll leave you with a few of our favorite photos from the past year.
