The folks at Creative Photo were kind enough to share with us a few images from weddings they have shot in The Elm Street Ballroom the past year! I love these photos and all of the emotion they capture. Check out more info on Creative Photo here.

October was amazing this year! The weather, the trees, everything about fall has been just beautiful and to add to that, we hosted a record number of receptions last month.  Mallory and Matt’s Museao reception was shot by the talented Kaitlyn Canole. You can check out more about her and her work here. A big thank you to Kaitlyn for sharing these images!

We’ve highlighted a few other Museao receptions on the blog before. Including Anneke and Andy’s winter soiree and Michelle and Chris’s fall event. It’s just such a unique and fun space !

Plus, because it’s a shared business space by day, it has great couches and lounge furniture already included with the space. (like this cozy couch above)

Congratulations Matt and Mallory!

Last weekend we had the pleasure of helping to plan a very special 1st Birthday Celebration to the tune of Eric Carle’s “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”.  A childhood staple, Carle’s colorful illustrations not only provide ample decor ideas but also menu inspiration.

For the event, we created a sculpted fondant cake for the adults as well as a smaller ‘smash’ cake pictured below. Smash cakes have become increasingly popular over the last several years and our mini cakes serve as the perfect size!

I just love how these themed iced sugar cookies turned out!

And these white and chocolate cake bites were amazing!  These display so elegantly on a buffet.

Inspired by an image we found on The Pottery Barn website, we created a paper lantern ‘Hungry Caterpillar’ to hang above the buffet in the kitchen. This was super easy to re-create…tutorial here.

What a fun day! Check out some of the other creative birthday and specialty cakes The Upper Crust has created in the past on our website here.

A big congratulations to Emily and Scott who celebrated their August wedding at The Cherry Hill Event Center. Special thank you to Catherine Rhodes for sharing these images of the day. Check out more information on Catherine here.

Guests at the event were treated to the delicious Upper Crust cake creation pictured above as well as an elegant plated meal.   Dinner featured assorted breads and spreads, mixed green salad, garlic mashed potatoes, fresh medley of vegetables, beef tenderloin and Chicken Picatta.

Congratulations Emily and Scott; we had a great time celebrating with you!
